How to Lock SCI

To participate in PoSciDonDAO governance, your SCI tokens must be locked in the PoSciDonDAO Protocol. Follow this step-by-step guide to lock your tokens and gain voting power:

Step 1: Access the PoSciDonDAO Protocol

  • Visit the PoSciDonDAO Protocol at . Log in using browser wallet, WalletConnect, Google mail, or email.

Step 2: Check Your SCI Token Balance and Voting Power

  • Once logged in, you will see your SCI token balance and your current voting power displayed on the dashboard.

  • If you haven’t locked your tokens yet, your voting power will be 0.

Step 3: Start the Locking Process

  1. Enter the number of SCI tokens you wish to lock in the provided field.

  2. Click on 'Preview Approval Locking SCI' to proceed.

Step 4: Approve the Locking Transaction

  1. Review the summary of the approval transaction on the next screen.

  2. Click 'Approve SCI' and confirm the transaction through your wallet provider.

  3. Wait for the transaction to be processed.

Step 5: Confirm the Locking of Tokens

  1. Once the approval is complete, you’ll see a screen summarizing the locking transaction.

  2. If the details are correct, click 'Confirm SCI Locking' and approve the transaction through your wallet provider.

  3. Wait for the confirmation message indicating that your tokens are now successfully locked.

Understanding Your Voting Power

Your voting power is directly linked to the number of SCI tokens you’ve locked but varies depending on the proposal type:

  • Proposals with Quadratic Voting Disabled:

    • Your voting power equals the number of tokens you’ve locked.

  • Proposals with Quadratic Voting Enabled:

    • Your voting power is calculated as the square root of the number of tokens locked.

Additional Requirements for Quadratic Voting

Congratulations!

Your SCI tokens are now locked, and you’re ready to participate in PoSciDonDAO governance. Your voting power is determined dynamically based on the proposal type, ensuring fair and impactful participation.
