Proposal Examples
Below are five examples of proposals that DAO members can submit. Each of these proposal examples aligns with the governance structure outlined in the PoSciDonDAO whitepaper while addressing different operational and strategic areas within the DAO.
1. Transaction Proposals These proposals execute an on-chain transfer of funds from the DAO treasury to a specified wallet.
Example A: Event Sponsorship Payment Propose transferring funds to a partner organization’s wallet to sponsor a blockchain conference where the DAO will have a keynote presentation.
Example B: Infrastructure Upgrade Propose a transfer of funds to a developer's wallet to expand the DAO’s smart contract infrastructure.
Example C: Initiate Marketing Campaign
Propose a transfer of funds to a marketer's wallet to kickstart a new marketing campaign to bring more awareness to the DAO.
2. Election Proposals These proposals grant the on-chain Due Diligence Role to a wallet, effectively electing a new member to the Due Diligence Crew.
Example A: Elect Scientist
Propose to elect a scientist with a background in personalized medicine research to source and review research projects for the DAO to fund.
Example B: Elect New Compliance Officer Propose to elect a candidate with a strong FDA compliance background to join the Due Diligence Crew and oversee adherence of DAO-developed drugs to regulatory standards.
3. Impeachment Proposals These proposals remove the on-chain Due Diligence Role from a specified wallet.
Example A: Impeach for Conflict of Interest Propose the removal of a Due Diligence Crew member due to repeated conflicts of interest that have compromised impartiality in decision-making.
Example B: Impeach for Inactivity Propose to impeach a Due Diligence Crew member who has demonstrated prolonged inactivity and has failed to meet their governance responsibilities.
4. Parameter Change Proposals These proposals adjust on-chain governance parameters to modify how the DAO operates.
Example A: Adjust Token Lockup Duration Propose to change the duration for which SCI tokens are locked after voting, reducing it from 14 days to 7 days to improve liquidity.
Example B: Update Quorum Requirements Propose a modification to the minimum number of votes needed for a proposal to pass, aiming to enhance decision-making efficiency in the DAO.
5. Not Executable Proposals These proposals are non-binding suggestions aimed at influencing DAO policy or internal processes without triggering an on-chain execution.
Example A: Revise Communication Guidelines Propose to update the DAO’s communication policy to improve transparency and member engagement.
Example B: Enhance Internal Voting Procedures Propose an internal review and potential update of the DAO’s voting procedures to streamline decision-making and reduce potential manipulation.
Example C: Revise Brand Guidelines
Propose changes in the current brand guidelines to improve the messaging and perception of the DAO's brand.
